INDIANAPOLIS (Apr. 11, 2017) –  Macedo rendered a strong second place showing in the Elite Landscape Construction, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Tarlton and Son, Inc. No.21x this past Saturday at Kern County Raceway Park. Macedo was eager to acclimate himself to the newly configured racing surface, and prevailed with a resilient finish during the first ever King of the West Series – NARC Fujitsu Sprint Car Series event on the 1/3-mile oval.

“My crew chief, Paul Baines, gave me a strong car,” said Macedo. “Any time you can battle for the lead you know you’re doing something right. I thought we had something for Cory (Eliason) at the end. We just needed a few more laps. I’m happy with a podium finish, but of course we would have liked a win more.”

Macedo would qualify 11th overall and lead every lap of his heat race, earning him a spot in the trophy dash. Starting in the 9th position of the dash, he capitalized and finished 4th, gaining valuable starting positions in the KWS feature event.

Rolling off from the second row in the 4th starting position, Macedo would stay up front the entire race battling for better real-estate each circuit. He would find himself bringing the Tarlton machine across the line in the second position as the checkered flag waved.

“The track just got better and better as the night went on,” said Macedo. “I was racing for position with Hirst and Eliason and that let Croft pull away. I guess Croft had some trouble and Cory (Eliason) and I gained from it. It’s good to be up front when stuff like that happens. You hate it for the other guy, but it was good for me and my team.”

Tarlton and Macedo will team back up for a pair of races at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California, April 21st and 22nd. First, Macedo will head East to run consecutive shows at Attica Raceway Park in Ohio aboard the Gaerte Racing No. 3G.
