INDIANAPOLIS (May. 15, 2017) – Carson Macedo masters Bloomington Speedway with a feature win this past Friday during MOWA (Midwest Open Wheel Association) sprint car competition. This is Macedo’s first winged sprint car victory in the state of Indiana.

“The No.3G was great all night,” said Macedo. “We were fast in qualifying. I would have liked a little better finish in the heat race, but the redraw put me starting in the second row so that helped. I’m really excited to get Joe (Gaerte), Tim (Norman), and Cindy (Norman) a win this early in the season.”

The Beast Chassis/ Gaerte Engines No.3G timed 5th quick in qualifications. Macedo lined up 5th on the grid for the heat race, and would go on to score a 4th place finish. He would draw a number four in the redraw for feature starting position. The Lemoore, California native rolled off in 4th and took the lead approximately halfway through the Amain.

Macedo would hold off a hard charging Parker Price-Miller and Paul May, who rounded out the podium, to cross the start/finish line, and capture his second win of the 2017 season.

“Joe Gaerte does a really good job setting up this race car. Joe is a big fan of Bloomington Speedway. He actually won a World of Outlaws feature at Bloomington back when he drove race cars. It means a lot to me to go there and run that well for him, as well as Tim and Cindy Norman.”

Macedo will be back in the Gaerte Racing No.3G this weekend for the Arctic Cat All Start Circuit of Champions race Friday, May 19th at Kokomo Speedway. He will then head back West to pilot the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21x entry at Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway for The Faria Memorial Saturday, May 20th.
