INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 10, 2017) – Carson Macedo produced his 11th victory this season winning the first ever Sprint Mania event with the Neal Tire and Auto Service MOWA Sprint Car Series at Fairbury American Legion Speedway. Macedo made big moves on the white flag lap to track down leader Joey Saldana, taking over the top spot and ending up in victory lane.

“The way the night started out I wasn’t sure we would even get this race in because of all the rain,” commented Macedo. “The track and staff did a great job getting this show in for us. Hats off to those guys and thanks for having us.”

The Joe Gaerte Racing/XYZ Machining No.3G was a rocket in the heat race, starting 4th and bringing home the win to qualify for the redraw. Macedo drew a 4 and lined up outside row two for the feature event. With laps clicking off, and the car getting better each lap, Macedo made his late race charge after several caution flags waved, and took the checkered flag over second place Joey Saldana and third place Hunter Schuerenberg.

“I was trying to just stay in line, and wait for the leader to get to traffic, but that never happened,” explained Macedo. “Every time we would get close to lap traffic another caution would come out. Finally, with about 10 laps left I got my wing back, and I could tell my car was getting better. I slid Schuerenberg with just a couple to go, and started running down Joey. It was good race the last few laps, but I’m happy I came home with the win.”

The Joe Gaerte Racing No.3G team is expected to compete in the final two Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions events this season at Mansfield Motor Speedway and Eldora Speedway.
