INDIANAPOLIS (Apr. 6, 2017) – Carson Macedo and Tarlton Motorsports return to Bakersfield’s Kern County Raceway this weekend looking for a win on the newly reconfigured 1/3-mile oval. With the playing field being leveled after complete track reconstruction during the off season, Macedo feels good about his chances.

“This place is technically a new track for everyone. I’m looking forward to figuring it out, and getting some solid lap time,” Macedo stated. “Tom and Tommy give me a great car every week and I’m excited to try to get a win in California before I head to the Midwest.”

The famous “all black everything” No.21x machine rolls into Kern County Raceway, Saturday, April 8th, for the first ever King of the West Series – NARC Fujitsu Sprint Car Series co-sanctioned event at the track. The previously planned KWS season opener at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico (California), scheduled for early March, was cancelled due to weather. Macedo and Tarlton Motorsports hold the KWS 2015 Title, with Tarlton also grabbing the 2016 King of the West Series Championship honors with a different driver.

Macedo is coming off of a West Coast stint with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series where he snagged two top ten finishes and a Hard Charger award for the Tarlton team.

“I like running with the Outlaws. They’re the best of the best and they push your limits every night,” said Macedo. “Getting one top ten with them is tough, so getting two makes it even better. You really have to step up your game when you race with them, but I think it helps make me a better driver.”

Macedo is set to return to local racing action this weekend in California before he heads to Ohio where he’ll pilot the Gaerte Racing No.3G entry for back-to-back nights at Attica Raceway Park. The FAST Series (Fremont Attica Sprint Title) is offering a “$5,000 to win” event on Friday night; the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will be in action on Saturday night.
