Macedo Claims Back-to-Back Victories with MOWA

INDIANAPOLIS (Jul. 18, 2017) – Lemoore, California native, Carson Macedo, scored two victories over the weekend with the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA), posting consecutive wins at Lincoln Speedway and Fairbury American Legion Speedway (F.A.L.S.)

“Going back to Lincoln was awesome after our success there at the All Star show,” said Macedo. “I hoped we would be just as good, and I think we were. The car was great from the start, Joe (Gaerte) and Tim (Norman) did a great job. We qualified third, and that lined us up in the 6th starting positon for the heat race. We were able to make our way through the traffic, using the bottom of the racetrack, where I finally got by Danny smith for the lead, and got the heat win. I got a great start from the front row, took the lead, and never looked back.”

Macedo, who was dominate in the heat race, winning from the 6th starting spot, carried that momentum into the feature where he led every lap. Fending off Brad Loyet and Brett Tripplett who rounded out the MOWA podium, Macedo would capture his fifth win of the season.

“We were able to sweep the night which was pretty awesome,” explained Macedo. “Picking up quick time, then starting 4th in the heat and getting the win. In the feature, we drew the 5 pill. On the immediate start of the race I was able to take jump into 3rd, and then I got to 2nd a couple laps later running the bottom. Finally, I moved up to the top to get by the leader, and was able to pick up the win. These guys really do their best to give me a great car, and I’m thankful to be able to give them wins in return.”

Initially Macedo and the No.3G team were slated to run the Kings Royal weekend at Eldora, but decided to save their engine for the up-coming Knoxville Nationals. The decision proved successful for Joe Gaerte Racing bringing home two 1st place trophies.

Macedo plans to race at Lernerville Speedway tonight, along with three All Star races at Eriez Speedway, Pittsburghs PA Motor Speedway, and Tri-City Raceway Park.
