Faccinto Bags First Win of the Season
INDIANAPOLIS (May. 15, 2017) – Hanford, California native, Mitchell Faccinto, grabs his first season win at his home track of Keller Auto Speedway over the weekend. The TSG Recycling/ Western Metal Company/I.H. Greenberg No.37 machine led all 30 laps of the feature event from the drop of the green flag to the wave of the checkers.
“We qualified good which helped lock us into the dash,” said Faccinto. “We were able to start on the front row, and got out front in clean air, which was huge because the track was hooked up. After getting out front, I knew it was going to be tough for anyone to make a pass unless it was in traffic. I’m happy to get that first win and ready to try for a few more.”
Faccinto kicked off the night with a strong second place in qualifying, turning a lap time of 13.964 seconds. He would start 4th in the heat race, charging his way to a 2nd place finish, and earning himself a spot in the trophy dash. Faccinto would line up 2nd in the dash and take home the win, warranting the coveted pole position in the feature.
“We’ve found some speed in the car over the past couple weeks, so as long as we keep putting ourselves in position early in the night, more wins should come our way,” said Faccinto. “I want to thank Stan (Greenberg) and everyone that works on the car: Drew Warner, my dad, Monte Faccinto, Chad Dart, Logan Greenberg, Joey Greenberg, and Joaquin. I appreciate them helping me every weekend and getting the car ready during the week. Glad I could get Stan and everyone a win.”
Faccinto heads to Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway, Saturday, May 20th, for The Faria Memorial presented by J.D. Heiskell & Company. With a season best 7th place finish at the Thunderbowl, Faccinto looks to improve a few more positions and hopefully pick up win with the King of the West/ North Auto Racing Club series.
Mitchell Faccinto and Stan Greenberg would like to thank the following sponsors: Western Metal Company, TSG Recycling, I.H. Greenberg, and Simpson Race Products.
